About the new CD, and a little about me
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website! I am a Denver-based full-time musician. Between teaching, composing, recording, gigging, practicing, and orchestral playing, I make my home in this beautiful city and am thankful for all the opportunities it provides. These days I stay busy with my band Masontown and am looking forward to the summer season, full of festivals and camps!
I flew to Boston and recorded a full album of original material back in November, and am finally ready and over the moon excited to share it! I’m delighted to be joined by Eric Thorin, Jon Sousa, Nick Amodeo, and Sam Armstrong-Zickafoose for the three CD release shows in Colorado.
I will be officially releasing the album on May 1. Produced by Joe K. Walsh, along with musicians Owen Marshall, Brittany Karlson, Darol Anger, Dave Haughey, Sam Leslie, Eric Wiggs, engineered and mixed by Dan Cardinal, and mastered by Dave Sinko, I am thrilled with how everything came together. I have been wanting to record a solo album for years, and can’t believe this dream has finally come true. I am so thankful for all the support from family, friends, mentors, and music lovers. I am truly lucky to be surrounded by wonderful people who have taught me so much, and this project has been an attempt to give it back through music.
My band Masontown also just finished up recording our first full length album, so stayed tuned for where to find it this summer. We formed in 2015, and I am so lucky to play with such amazingly talented musicians, not to mention fantastic people on a regular basis. Please visit our website for more info.
One more very exciting new thing to announce is the University of Northern Colorado is adding a new program to their already fabulous music school. A Folk & Bluegrass studies program will offer a full bachelor’s degree, and certificate program starting this fall of 2017. I will be serving as adjunct fiddle professor. Visit the UNC website for more info–and here’s a quick 36 seconds of video from the new UNC bluegrass program:
Please check out my performance dates and I hope to see you at a show. Thank you for supporting the arts!
